Succession Review

I thought the online activity on chapter 14.5 was good because it allowed me to work at my own pace and there were many animations to make the information clear. However, I would enjoy it more if we could start off by discussing as a class and do the activity at the end.

I feel that the lesson today and the way we learned was very helpful, I like this type of learning with the internet or other activities, but I would also still want to go through the classical power point presentation on the topic because they are also good too see during the class with the teacher.

In my opinion, this online activity was a really effective one on us to help us start this new section. It is a good way to begin 14.5, because this activity has definitions of words that are easy to understand. I also think that the animations showing the primary succession and secondary succession were also very helpful; a visual always helps a person understand a topic better. To learn about a succession would be hard if someone was explaining it, but since we also got to see this activity beforehand, it was easier to understand when Ms. Lakshmi was explaining it to us. The only thing that I would say needs improvement is the quiz, because it is too easy, but overall, this activity was a great one to get us started on this section about successions.

I enjoyed the online activity on succession, it allowed me to take notes and read at my own pace. But, I think that we should have a small class discussion AFTERWARDS to cover the few vocabulary words that the online activity doesn't, and to clear any confusion. I think that if class ran like that, I would get good grades and be happy (not that I'm not happy now).

I liked the activity, because I could do it at my own pace and just take down whatever I think is helpful, but I prefer the whole class - teaching, because I need some further explanation and discussion, to deeply understand the topic, especially if I want to get full score in a quiz or test.

I think that the online activity had both it's positive and negative points. The negative - I felt that there wasn't enough information on the site to clearly understand the topic and to begin with assignments and/or worksheets on the topic. The positive being that everyone was able to complete their work and finish at their own pace.
